Technical Characteristics of the Toolholders

Material

  • All toolholders are manufactured from 16MnCr5 alloyed steel,
  • Minimum hardness depth of 0.5mm and a surface hardness of HRC 58 -/+ 2 (670 HV30).

Balance

  • All holders are delivered pre-balanced,
  • ISO/BT40 are balanced to 10,000 rpm,
  • ISO/BT50 are balanced to 8,000 rpm,
  • Tooling can be balanced to 20,000 / 30,000 rpm with certificate on request.

Accuracy

  • Taper accuracy according to DIN 254,
  • Taper Angle: tolerance AT3 DIN 7178 part 1 and DIN 2080 part1,
  • Other tolerances according to DIN 7160 and 7168,
  • Taper surface roughness Rz<0.001 mm.

Tolerance AT :

  • Indicates the tolerance of size D surface between the real and the theoretical value of the taper concentricity,
  • This value of surface D must always be less (negative), never more (positive) in order to GUARANTEE a good toolholder fixation at the bigger taper diameter.

Special Products

296 Drill Chuck

The MEXIN Drill Chuck 296 combines mechanical function with advanced technology. It has a tolerance in concentricity under 0.010 mm. (Test data shown: 0.020 mm), which is more than standard market requirements. With a tightening torque of 12 Nm over the mechanism, the tightening torque reached over the tool will be 70Nm. Its fastening system allows the chuck to be used in either right or left hand operation. Its compact one-piece construction produces a low volume product, which permits high operating speeds in balanced drill chucks.

297 Drill Chuck

Due to its mechanical construction and its new design the coolant can be distributed in different ways. The security in the fastening system allows right and left operation. Again, its compact one-piece construction produces a low volume product, which permits high operating speeds in balanced drill chucks. By means of two screws acting over the pistons guiding the coolant, it can be supplied through two directions: through the front of the chuck body or through the tool or even both simultaneously.

457 Collet Chuck

The best alternative to any strain or hydraulic system. Through mechanical systems we obtain an axial displacement of the collet against the nut and eliminate the radial and torsional stress.

Advantages

  • No more radial and torsional stress over the collet,
  • High clamping force of the tools > 300 Nm on a 20.0mm dia with a tightening torque in the wrench of 12 Nm,
  • Use standard DIN 6499 (ER) Collets, allowing a wide range of applications,
  • Twice the accuracy of standard ER collet chucks,
  • Enables higher feed rates and larger depths of cut,
  • No need for tightening fixture, front nut only requires hand tightening.
610 Tap Chuck

With this model any advancing breakdown of the spindle can be balanced during the tapping operation. By only one turn of the ring (A) compression can be blocked, leaving the unit operating with tension (T) only, assuring the depth of the thread +/- 0.1 mm. Coolant can be supplied through the tap when using type.80.497 bonded collets watertight). When using collets type 80.494 or 80.498 (square drive) coolant normally reaches the tap through the slots of the collet.
